    Environment

Woertz AG has been actively pursuing its environmental policy for years and intends to continue complying with all legislation in the future. Lots of projects have already been implemented in this sector and more are planned. Woertz AG will continue to maintain this high standard and implement new environmental projects in the area of energy management for buildings and production.

Only new technologies can create significant savings. We are always interested in adapting new technologies to save energy. The use of raw conflict minerals is not prohibited, but works according to the “name and shame” principle. This regulation is intended to ensure that companies do not finance armed conflicts using the raw minerals they use so that they do not risk damaging their reputation.

Woertz AG strives to be proactive in this regard. Since millions of contacts are installed in every building, contact resistance is optimised wherever possible in every new product in order to minimise losses at the contact points, which reduces energy requirements. We think, act and produce in a sustainable and forward-thinking way for the environment.

    Ethics

As a Swiss family business, Woertz is committed to Swiss values: Quality products and services, innovation and inventiveness in research and development, reliability towards customers and employees. We act on moral principles and give the best possible support to our employees as well as to our clients. Woertz communicates transparently and faithfully with its stakeholders.

Woertz AG and its employees comply with the laws and regulations of the country in which they operate. Regulations that are applicable in all countries where the activities are carried out.

Woertz applies a human resources policy that complies with the law and respects individual rights and individual and collective freedoms.

Woertz diligently adheres to the laws, as well as any violations that are intended to prohibit the free play of competition.

Behaviour or facts that can be qualified, as well as active or passive corruption, complicity with exercising influence or complicity with favouritism, will not be tolerated by Woertz AG when awarding, negotiating or executing public or private contracts.

    Labour and human rights

The integrity, health and well-being of our employees are important concerns for us. We treat questions of safety and health protection with the same priority as questions of quality, productivity and economic efficiency. We actively ensure safety and health protection in all activities and products. A mission statement for safety can only have an impact if it is known to the staff, can be lived and is exemplified by the supervisors.

The safety system ensures sustainable work. In addition, it summarises the most important requirements in the field of occupational safety and health protection in a handy working tool. It is a practical aid for employers and safety professionals to fulfil their responsibilities and continuously improve safety and health in the company.

We give our employees the opportunity to continuously improve and develop. We also promote knowledge and research in the electrical industry among pupils and students with our scholarship programme. By following the moral principles and giving the best possible support to our employees as well as to our clients. Our production is based in Switzerland and is tailored to the specific requirements of our Swiss customers. We will continue to follow this path in the future.

    Sustainable procurement

Woertz AG stands for fair and sustainable production and procurement of products.

Our purchasing philosophy covers the entire supply chain and can be traced from the raw material to the end product. Social, ecological and ethical guidelines are taken into account. The purchasing policy of Woertz AG is oriented towards high-quality, predictable availability at a reasonable price. Wherever possible, preference is given to suppliers who can also guarantee supply logistics with optimised CO2 emissions.

Woertz AG works primarily with ISO-certified suppliers. This means that basic qualitative requirements must be met. Procurement takes into account steps to ensure the efficient use of resources. Even during product development, emphasis is placed on long usability in combination with recyclability.

When procuring materials, Woertz observes the REACH and RoHS regulations in order to protect people and the environment from risks arising from chemicals.

The use of raw conflict minerals is not prohibited, but works according to the “name and shame” principle. This regulation is intended to ensure that companies do not finance armed conflicts using the raw minerals they use so that they do not risk damaging their reputation.

Although Woertz Handels AG is not subject to the reporting requirements of the above law, we are aware of the importance of this regulation for our international customers. For this reason, Woertz AG strives not to purchase any material that originates from the aforementioned areas and that would then directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups in the DRC or its neighbouring states. Within the scope of our capabilities and in cooperation with our suppliers, we are working to achieve the necessary level of transparency to provide our customers with reliable statements. To our knowledge, we do not use any raw materials from the DRC or its neighbouring countries.

    Quality

The focus and direction of our Integrated Management System has been developed over many years based on the goals of our corporate policy and has been implemented in the spirit of growth.

Our policy is based on progressive and forward-looking ideas. They apply to our customers, suppliers, the public and our operations. We comply with legal requirements regarding product safety, occupational safety and environmental protection. For the company, the exposed position not only means fulfilling the environmentally relevant requirements beyond the legal standards, but also producing in harmony with the local residents.

Concentrating on our business fields and expanding our know-how are extremely important to us. With our products, we aim to take a leading position in the market and rank among the best providers. Our work is geared towards continuous improvement and further development of our quality management system and our products, as well as processes. We always want to maintain cooperative relationships “internally” and “externally” and cultivate a functioning quality management system as the basis for sustainable business processes. This is how we aim to increase the satisfaction of our business partners and employees and win new business partners.
